Making Cottage Style Picture Frames
Purchasing cottage-style decoration in stores can be expensive; you can create your own shabby chic accessories at home. Doing so will enable you to save money and will allow you to turn ordinary items into rustic-inspired treasures. Written below is a guide for making cottage-style picture frames.
Start by buying a painted, wooden picture frame. Then, gently rub fine-grain sandpaper onto it in small, circular motions. Doing so will make it look more weathered. Next, place a hot glue stick into a hot glue gun and plug it in. When the glue has heated, squeeze a dollop of the adhesive onto the frame.
Proceed by gently pressing a dried flower onto the glue, and hold it in place until the latter cools. Do this process again until you have added all of the dried blooms that you would like to decorate your frame. Once this step is completed, tear a strip of silk or crushed velvet fabric with your hands. Tie it into a loose bow and attach it to your picture frame.
Finally, wait until all of the hot glue cools completely before placing your picture into the cottages-style frame.
